ODHIKAR, a Bangladesh based Human Rights Organization released a report spanning 6 months, that is, the period between the 1st of January and the 30th of June in which is detailed various violations of human rights. The full report can be accessed here.

Among some of the violation mentioned in the report is violence against religious and ethnic minority communities, the imposition of Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, violence against Hefazate Islam activists and violence against women in the region.

ODHIKAR believes  individual freedoms and the democratic aspirations of citizens to be the foundational principles of the State, and, that the the democratic legitimacy of a State is directly related to its commitment and capacity t0 ensure human rights.In the absence of such, it positions itself as against all forms of human rights violations and demand for civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, in order to encourage a democratic State.
