The annual Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award (ADHRA) was established by the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy in 2006 to encourage individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to promoting and protecting human rights through peaceful means in Asia. The 2014 ADHRA will be presented to Centre for Human Rights and Development of Sri Lanka to recognize their dedication to protecting and promoting human rights. H.E. President Ma Ying-jeou will confer the Award on the representative, Mr. Kanagasabai Shanmugaratnam Ratnavale, Director of Centre for Human Rights and Development, at this ceremony on International Human Rights Day.
